Press Release: Pittsburgh Young Professionals Welcomes New Board of Directors for 2020

One of the County’s Oldest Young Professional Organization Announces Big Plan for 2020, including— New Board of Directors, New Events, and New Pittsburgh Partnerships

PITTSBURGH – Pittsburgh Young Professionals (PYP) is excited to announce the appointment of 14 new board members, led by Board President and business operations professional, Jacquie Foradori.

Representing over 625 young professionals, the new Board of Directors aims to provide career-minded individuals with opportunities to develop socially, professionally, and civically. Board members will use their experience and diverse backgrounds in the following areas: marketing/communications, IT development, investments, business development, entrepreneurship, health care, and nonprofit to “develop an awareness of inclusion” and “help transform the organization to meet the evolving need of its members and the growing Pittsburgh young professional community”, Foradori says.  (Full board listing on second page).

Foradori has been an active member of PYP for over 5 years, serving on various committees and leading the 100 percent volunteer-run organization as a Board Advisor. I’ve had a chance to see the interweavings of how PYP works and where there is room for improvements,” says Foradori. “I’ve had some really strong female presidents before me that have lead the way and helped me hone in on my leadership skills.”

Alongside the new Board of Directors, Foradori is positioning the organization to flourish in a new decade of innovation for the Greater Pittsburgh region. This year PYP will be hosting over 45 events with several events focusing on Community Outreach in underrepresented communities of the Greater Pittsburgh region. The newly appointed board will also reinstate the annual PYP Gala and Golf Outing— benefiting this year’s community partner and charity, the Sarah Heinz House.

By setting itself apart from similar groups in the region, offering opportunities to develop new skills and professional connections in a diverse group of individuals looking to grow in their personal and professional lives for an annual membership fee of $70, PYP will continue to grow their membership.

Community groups, small businesses, and Pittsburgh based companies will also benefit from PYP. Partnership opportunities will allow for businesses to expand their brand, promote community involvement, while also finding company among Pittsburgh’s professional talent.
